What began with long hours in a crowded college computer lab has grown into a two-decade career at the forefront of global digital transformation. Today, Krithika Subramani leads the Global Data and Integration practice at Tieto Tech Consulting.
In this role, she leverages her expertise to help clients modernize their data and integration landscapes - building the strong, trusted data foundation required to truly become AI-ready organizations.
A Career Built on Curiosity and Growth
Krithika’s fascination with technology started during her college years in India, when computers were still a rare resource. “We had just one lab with 25 computers, and we had to reserve a machine days in advance to finish our assignments. Those hours taught me how much I enjoyed working with technology.”
After graduating with an engineering degree, she embarked on a career that now spans more than 20 years in IT. Over the years, she has worked as an Engineer, Program Manager, Digital Transformation Lead, and in Sales and Business Development. “Each role gave me new skills and perspectives. Working with customers across geographies showed me that technology may be global, but business challenges are always local and human.”
Accelerating Innovation through Purpose-Driven Leadership
As the Global Head of Data and Integration at Tieto Tech Consulting, Krithika believes her primary responsibility is to integrate technology in ways that solve core business challenges. “My unique vantage point allows me to track the latest tech trends and industry opportunities, which in turn enables our experts to innovate and help customers successfully transition to the newest solutions.
Krithika does not measure career success solely in personal milestones. Instead, her compass is purpose: “I want to help customers solve challenges, build the next generation of leaders, support my team’s growth, and give back to the community.”
She envisions herself remaining at the intersection of technology and business - close to clients’ evolving needs while ensuring her teams continue to thrive in a fast-changing industry.
Looking ahead, Krithika adds, “Our recent pivot to a new delivery model is incredibly exciting, as it will accelerate innovation by allowing us to reuse best practices and technology solutions across industries, delivering faster time-to-value and greater strategic impact for our clients.”
Driving Inclusion and Inspiring Others
As a woman in tech, she has often been in the minority. “In my early years, it was sometimes hard to ensure my perspective was heard. That experience taught me to communicate with clarity and brevity, and it helped me gain sponsorship for my ideas.”
She is passionate about improving gender balance in technology. “Women should be strategic and unapologetic about their ambitions. They need to own their expertise with confidence and support each other’s achievements to form a powerful collective voice.”
Recognizing that women’s career paths can differ due to personal and professional responsibilities, Krithika emphasizes the importance of allyship and inclusive structures, “Men must act as active allies and companies need to create supportive frameworks that enable diverse career paths and empower women to reach their full potential.
Her advice to young women is simple yet powerful: “Stay curious, explore opportunities, and find your sweet spot. Success comes from deep focus, not from multitasking.”
The Ending Comes First
Outside of work, Krithika admits to having an unusual reading habit. “I dislike suspense so much that I always read the ending of a mystery book first,” she laughs. “It drives my friends crazy, but I can’t help it — I enjoy the journey more when I already know how it ends.”
That blend of curiosity and confidence reflects her personality both inside and outside the workplace - where it fuels her ability to envision what’s next in technology, leadership and business transformation. Through her leadership, she not only accelerates business change but also empowers people — proving that when curiosity meets purpose, progress becomes inevitable.
