Senior Business Analyst, Tietoevry Create (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Software Business Analyst who wants to become part of one of the biggest software engineering organizations in Bulgaria. BA team members are an integral part of the MentorMate structure and as such you will be given the unique opportunity to participate in a variety of projects, work on different business domains, collaborate with all departments in the company, influence our clients, and participate in their decision-making process. You'll work together with cross-functional teams to identify requirements, design solutions, and implement new systems. You'll also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and providing strategic insights to drive business growth.  

Responsibilities 

• Work for one of the biggest banks in North America 
• Communicate with clients to gain an in-depth understanding of their business, processes, and services  
• Build a strong relationship with the stakeholders and direct them toward maximizing business value  
• Analyze data and provide insights to support business decisions  
• Analyze, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions to optimize business processes  
• Participate actively in business analysis activities during project definition sessions and take high-level business requirements from key stakeholders  
• Facilitate Design Thinking workshops with clients and cross-functional teams to ideate, prototype, and iterate solutions  
• Facilitate requirements elicitation meetings and drive consensus  
• Working closely with the Design team for the preparation of user research  
• Partner with solutions architects to analyze and document the business requirements  
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to define business requirements and design technology solutions  
• Work with the project management team to ensure quality and on-time delivery of projects by monitoring progress and managing risks and issues  
• Produce and maintain project documentation such as project charters, business requirements, functional specifications, functional requirements, diagrams, etc.  
• Create clear, concise, testable Epics & User Stories, with acceptance criteria using both positive and negative outcome scenarios  
• Support product owners to scope and prioritize stories to ensure the development process is aligned with the objectives  
• Validate the requirements with the development team  
• Lead SCRUM meetings such as sprint plannings, backlog refinement, and estimation  
• Work in the squad to understand the velocity and priorities and support the activity required to complete the sprint/increment objectives  
• Be the first point of contact for answering the team’s questions  

Requirements 

• At least 5 years' experience in IT with at least 3 years in an analyst role  
• At least 1 year of experience working on a project within the financial services or banking industry 
• Strong understanding of financial products and services (e.g., loans, mortgages, trading, risk management, payments, wealth management) 
• Experience in back-office operations supporting trading, settlements, reconciliations, or post-trade processing
• Familiarity with financial operations, workflows, trade lifecycle, and regulatory reporting
• Good knowledge of business analysis best practices and ability to effectively apply them  
• Ability to analyze complex dispersed information and synthesize it in concise product requirements  
• Ability to understand and organize complex ideas into application requirements  
• Experience with Requirements Tracking Tools - JIRA, Azure DevOps board, Rally, etc.  
• Experience with diagramming tools (Lucidchart, Visio, Miro, etc.)  
• Experience in preparing user stories, understanding, and communicating business processes, and value  
• Experience in creating valuable articulate requirements and complex process flows  
• Experience in building Cloud-based solutions in any delivery method (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and an understanding of the impact these have on business process design is a benefit  
• Experience with Agile delivery and ways of working  
• Ability to identify risks in the project and communicate them  
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills  
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences  
• Ability to assert themselves in meetings, both internally and with clients  
• Ability to deal with rapidly varying tasks as needed  
• Positive attitude  
• Focus on Design Thinking will be considered an advantage  
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field will be considered an advantage  
• Excellent spoken and written English
