Senior Windows System Engineer - Tietoevry Create (m/f/d)

MentorMate, part of Tietoevry Create, is inviting a talented professional to join our project as a Senior Windows System Engineer for our respectable client BICS – a global telecommunication enabler with a physical network stretching through the globe!

Areas of Responsibility

• Meet with the business to assess requirements and develop solutions that adhere to Engineering standards
• Define, design and implement core system hardware and operating system solutions and maintain systems also virtualised ones (VMWare)
• Architect and administer production environment Active Directory domain, DNS, and group policy in accordance with best practices
• Have ownership of various systems engineering projects related to Windows systems infrastructure
• Architect, build, and troubleshoot Windows 2012, 2016 & 2019 systems for production and test platforms
• Provision, configure, and monitor Azure virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components
• Implement security measures and manage access controls in Azure
• Integrate applications with Azure databases, storage, and other services
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate application deployment processes
• Perform automation of routine tasks using PowerShell to increase systems efficiency and reduce human intervention
• Manage systems and network security to meet best practices and allow appropriate access without adding additional risk
• Perform patching and upgrading tasks with respect of change management procedure
• Design and maintain backup and redundancy strategies
• Participate to daily operational activities such as trends analysis, root cause analysis, monitoring
• Improve alarming and monitoring
• Organise, document, and train other colleagues about Windows systems infrastructure

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience
• Very good knowledge of Windows OS (Server 2012 & 2019) and Microsoft Cluster
• General knowledge of VMware Virtualization
• Experience in installing and configuring Microsoft Windows solutions
• Experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure services and resources
• Experience in documenting current design&configuration and developing/maintaining Standard Operation Procedures/Instructions and training guidance
• Knowledge of ITIL Service Operation 
• Fluency in English

• Scripting knowledge (Python, Powershell, PowerCli)
