The Release Train Manager (RTM) is a servant leader and coach for the release train. The RTM's major responsibilities are to facilitate the release train events and processes. One of the main responsibilities is to assist the teams in delivering value. The RTM communicates with stakeholders, escalates impediments, helps manage risk, and drives relentless improvements. The RTM facilitates and enables end-to-end value delivery through the Release Train.

 

As a Release Train Manager, you will:

  • Facilitate the Release Train’s events and processes.
  • Coach and support teams and POs in organizing their work to deliver roadmap features and maintenance tasks.
  • Serve to fulfill the objectives of the Increment/Release plan.
  • Cooperate with the Release Manager, Product Owners, Product Managers (PMs), and other RTMs regarding detailed release planning and release train's release issues, strategy, and execution alignment.
  • Ensure all governance elements of quality, security, regulatory, and other compliance-related aspects of the release train are addressed prior to release.
  • Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure tracking the execution of features and capabilities.
  • Represent on steering groups.
  • Take care of the Release Train communication to stakeholders.
  • Organize and facilitate Program Increment Planning (PI) (together with all RTMs).
  • Resolve and/or escalate impediments.
  • Help in risk management and managing dependencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement.
  • Balance resource plans and provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
  • Manage Release Train budgeting and follow-up of the budget.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Desire to lead a program with several teams and products
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Finnish
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum/SAFe processes and principles
  • Good communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the healthcare market, customer, and business
  • Enthusiasm, energy, ambition, and motivation
  • 10+ years in software product development, including 5+ years in managerial role.
