About the role
We are currently seeking a Product Development Manager to join our Welfare Product Development unit. This is not just a technical leadership role—it's a critical people leadership role, where your primary focus will be to manage, support, and grow a team of highly skilled professionals.
In this unit, you will be one of 10 PD managers in a global Team. Your main location will be Ski where you will be the only PD manager. The other PD managers are located in Sweden, Poland and India.
In addition to your core responsibilities, as a Product Development Manager you will play a key role in driving both the strategic direction and operational execution of our engineering practices. This includes leading high-performing teams, ensuring product quality and delivery excellence, and aligning development with customer and business needs.
Your responsibilities
As a PD Manager within Welfare Product Development, you will be responsible for a team of highly skilled developers, UX designers, software architects and functional architects. We work in teams where each team have end-to-end responsibility for a part of our product.
Your Responsibilities
This role is about leading people, not just projects. You will:
Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of developers, UX designers, software architects, and functional architects.
Strengthen competencies and ensure long-term team professional growth and performance of your team.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, encouraging collaboration, engagement, and professional development.
Actively participate in our leadership network, working alongside other PD Managers to ensure consistent people practices across locations.
Identify development needs, provide feedback, and support team members in achieving their personal and professional goals.
Align team capabilities and priorities with business strategy and customer expectations.
Stay informed on industry trends and development methodologies to guide your team effectively.
We expect you to have
Bachelor’s degree or similar
Excellent communication skills, and to be fluent in English and have at least basic Norwegian knowledge
At least 5 years of experience within IT and product development
