ETL Developer – Medicare Domain (Alteryx & Snowflake)
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled ETL Developer with strong experience in the US Medicare healthcare domain to support, operate, and enhance data pipelines built primarily using Alteryx and Snowflake. The role involves running scheduled and on-demand workflows, managing dynamic and evolving data schemas, ensuring data quality, and supporting downstream analytics and reporting teams.
Key Responsibilities
ETL Operations & Workflow Management
- Execute, monitor, and support Alteryx ETL pipelines in production and non-production environments
- Initiate scheduled and ad-hoc Alteryx workflows and troubleshoot execution failures
- Manage workflow dependencies and ensure timely data availability
- Perform reruns, backfills, and recovery activities as required
Data Transformation & Schema Handling ( **** Must ****)
- Develop and maintain Alteryx workflows to handle:
- Dynamic file structures
- Schema changes (new/removed columns, datatype changes)
- Variable data layouts across Medicare feeds
- Implement metadata-driven and rule-based transformations
- Design reusable macros for schema detection and standardization
Medicare Domain Data Processing (Good to have)
- Process and validate Medicare healthcare data, including:
- Claims data (Part A, Part B, Part C, Part D)
- Eligibility and enrollment files
- Provider and beneficiary datasets
- Apply Medicare business rules during data transformation and validation
- Support regulatory, audit, and compliance reporting needs
SQL & Data Validation (**** Must ****)
- Write and optimize SQL queries for:
- Data validation and reconciliation
- Aggregations and summaries
- Investigating data quality issues
- Perform source-to-target validation and row-count balancing
- Assist in resolving data discrepancies across systems
Data Quality & Compliance (*** Must ***)
- Implement and monitor data quality checks (completeness, accuracy, consistency)
- Identify, analyze, and resolve data anomalies
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA and healthcare data privacy standards
Documentation & Collaboration (*** Must ***)
- Maintain workflow documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and Medicare SMEs
- Support UAT, production releases, and post-deployment validation
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer
- Workflow orchestration
- Macros and batch processing
- Dynamic schema handling
- Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, window functions) - Snowflake
- Solid understanding of ETL concepts and data pipeline operations
Snowflake Data Management
- Load, transform, and manage data in Snowflake using Alteryx
- Develop and optimize Snowflake SQL for transformations, validations, and analytics
- Manage Snowflake objects including databases, schemas, tables, views, and stages
Domain Expertise
- Hands-on experience in the US Medicare / Healthcare domain
- Good understanding of Medicare claims processing and healthcare data structures
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and data governance practices
Experience
- ~5 years of experience in ETL-Alteryx / Data Engineering roles
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Masters in Computer Application (MCA)
