Purpose of the Role:
The Area Product Owner will provide functional expertise to a high-performing teams of Cash Management Engineers within Product Engineering. This role involves close collaboration across multiple delivery teams within Financial Services to deliver seamlessly integrated solutions for our customers.
The ideal candidate brings deep business expertise, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to resolve complex issues across diverse products and business groups. Strong consultative, listening, communication, and analytical capabilities are essential. We are looking for a proactive problem solver with sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to inspire and guide teams toward success.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- Extensive expertise in Customer Accounting, and Financial Data Management, including Liquidity Management, Virtual Account Management, and Domestic/Cross‑Border Cash & Notional Pooling.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strong functional leadership to engineering teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross‑team collaboration skills.
- Proven experience in requirement analysis and specification development, with a background as a Business Analyst and/or Product Owner.
- Deep domain knowledge in Corporate Payments and broader banking processes.
- Proficient with key collaboration and workflow tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong understanding of product development frameworks, including Design Thinking.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of systems engineering principles, modeling techniques, and analytical methods.
The Responsibilities We expect
- Collaborate with other Area Product Owners and Architects to create and review detailed functional requirements, solution designs, and acceptance criteria for epics.
- Support high‑level estimation activities in partnership with the Product Owner.
- Break down epics into structured, manageable user stories.
- Work with the squad to define and validate functional solutions and establish clear acceptance criteria for each user story.
- Ensure delivery of documentation with the appropriate depth, accuracy, and quality required for Payments & Messaging.
- Prioritize the squad backlog and obtain validation from the Product Owner.
- Provide predictable delivery outcomes within the functional area.
- Conduct functional reviews of test cases to ensure alignment with requirements and design.
- Validate the implementation of user stories and epics through demos and iterative feedback.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, combined with a growth mindset and a collaborative approach when working with key business and technology stakeholders.
- Together with the Product Owner, you will work to maximize the value of the product and the effectiveness of the engineering Team.
- You will also communicate insights, recommendations, and solution plans effectively across cross‑functional teams, maintaining close interaction with APOs and POs across all product areas.
